resource that offers East Texans links to local health services,
providers,
programs,
etc.

Partnering with the
National Library of
Medicine (NLM), the Watson W. Wise Medical Research Library of the
University
of Texas Health Center at
Tyler is developing the online resource, east texas connect or
etc. In association with
the NLM's
MedlinePlus and the MedlinePlus Go Local
initiative, users of etc. can
find information on diseases,
conditions, and other health issues,
as well as locate relevant health services, providers, and programs in
East Texas associated with these health topics.
etc. went live on March 6, 2006, and can be found at
http://medlineplus.gov/etc.
The etc.
development team continues to add
sites of health service
providers
and programs in our 39-county region.
